One of our industry’s greatest mentors passed away today. Like many hairdressers all over the world we are very sad for the loss of an icon of the hairdressing and fashion worlds, Vidal Sassoon. All of us at forme see Vidal Sassoon as the person who really made our careers possible today by revolutionizing our industry. He did this by creating the cut and blow-dry, liberating women from weekly roller sets, and enabling us hairdressers to cut and blowdry as many shapes as our imagination’s eye could see. Vidal also pioneered the highest level of education and professionalism for hairdressers, values we strive for every day at forme through training all our own staff, advanced classes, and excellent care for our clients. We hope to honor Vidal’s memory and the great traditions of precision he began for our industry by being professional and excellent everyday, cutting one great and inspired haircut, one hair-color, or one highlight at a time. We are inspired by these images of Sassoon’s early work.
