why hair:

Growing up in NY I had always been moved by architecture, beauty and fashion.  My love for clothes and desire to do hair started when I was 13.  For fun I used to style all my friends and do their hair and make up. I was great at it! Technically, I had no idea what I was doing, but it felt natural for me to have my hands in hair. Ultimately what drew me to do hair professionally was the creative aspect of it, and the amazing people you get the privilege to work on, and work with. Besides, what other career lets you wear the coolest of clothes and shoes?!  I have always loved that hair is an outward expression of someone’s personality, how a new style or color builds confidence and the smallest change to a person can give the greatest impact. Over 20 years later, I remain passionate about this industry; I still love hair, people, and the creative environment.

What’s not to love about forme!  It goes without saying (although I will say it) that Ixie is one of the most talented stylists around. She can do any style from a traditional cut with layers (like mine) to a pink pixie cut (which she did on my friend who looks AMAZING) with speed and finesse and her color sense and experience is spot on.
The whole experience at forme is lovely…from the easy parking to the friendly reception staff to the clean, modern, open aesthetic of the space. The culture of the salon feels like one big family…no snooty attitudes here! To top it all off, there’s a giant jar of FREE Oreos for clients to nibble on!
